Sultan's Elephant

This mechanical elephant was made by the Royal de Luxe theatre company. The show where this mechanical elephant was in were to celebrate the centenary of Jules Verne's death. Who this Jules guy? Well, he is a novelist who pioneered the science-fiction genre. He wrote about space, air and underwater travel even before those things ever exist.

This particular show by Royal de Luze, consists of this mechanical elephant, a giant marionette of a girl and other public art. This show was performed at various locations around the world between 2005 and 2006.

This elephant mostly were made out of wood and operated by 22 'manipulateurs' using hydraulics and motors.. It weights as much as 50 tons. Magnificent invention I'd say. Even the trunk is capable of spraying water! Bad news is, this elephant is no longer exists. The company that built it got fed-up of being invited to perform the show around the world and thus destroyed the elephant.

Optical Illusyen

You'd think this is shopped. But they aren't. These two arts were painted onto the walls and roofs to give the optical illusion effect. Stand at the center of the image from far, you'll notice the effect.

Last Resort

A street art of Little People created by Slinkachu. He created it by using railway models (tree, peoples) and half of a tennis ball. Stick the coconut tree in the middle of the tennis ball and place it somewhere in the street puddle with clean water (for reflection effects) and then, put the two reworked railway models (bloated male & female) on top. Viola! There you have it.

Stormtroopers Day 7

Mother Motherland Calls

This statue in Russia, built in commemorating the Battle of Stalingrad. The largest statue in the world, back in 1967 when it still has not been taken over by religious statues. Measuring 85 meters from the tip of the sword to the top of the statue base. There are 200 steps leading to the statue from bottom of the hill to the monument. The 200 symbolise the amount of days during the Battle of Stalingrad.

On a side note, the sculptor sure is very good with all the little tiny details.

Incipio Game Boy iPhone

Check this cool Game Boy case for iPhone 4. Totally resembles Game Boy. Ain't that cool to have it on your iPhone? But too bad. They aren't producing this casing. No idea on that. Probably they are afraid being sued by Nintendo perhaps?

LEGO Arts

These amazing LEGO arts were made by Nathan Sawaya whom was as a lawyer back then. He gave up his successful career as a lawyer (with a 6 figure salary!) and wanted to fulfill his childhood dream of stacking and combining up LEGO blocks and create artworks from it. Well, in return, he sold his masterpieces for thousands of dollars.

At the moment, he has an inventory of 1.5 million LEGO bricks to use on his sculptures at his studio in New York. His largest artwork was made up of about half-a-million of LEGO bricks. Even I couldnt do much with 100s bricks. Each of his artworks are sold for more than 10,000 dollars.

Feast up on some of his amazing artworks. This fella is living his childhood dream and stacking money out of it!

I think this is the coolest of all

TK455: That Luke has a father? Yeah. He does.

Stone House, Portugal

Located in mountains of Fafe, Portugal, this house literally made out of rocks. Huge rocks. A bit like the ones in Flinstone, but this house is made in between of two huge giant rocks. I dont think anyone would live in it since there's no access for power which results in no technology. Basically you live in a rock age.

Fascinating.

Crooked House of Poland

This crooked house is located in the street of Bohaterow Monte Cassino Street in Sopot, Poland. Built in 2003, the architecture of the house is inspired by drawings by Jan Marcin Szancer and Per Dahlberg. The roof tile in dark green really much resembles the scales of a dragon. It's like this house is filled with underground dungeons where they keep all the dragons which we all don't believe in. But, dragon do exists. Really.

Daytime front view

When you step into the house, you'll see pubs and restaurants, walk further in and more pubs and restaurants. Well, the street itself is a popular tourists destination. If you look at the house from far outside, it looked like the house is going to melt away. Fantastic.

Beautiful nightime view
